About 300 healthcare, sports, educational and cultural institutions of Tatarstan are now equipped with Aurica induction loop systems.
The Republic of Tatarstan is one of the three regions in which the pilot project on creation of the barrier-free environment for people with disabilities and reduced mobility was launched. The Barrier-Free Environment program is aimed to bring improvement in seven key sectors in the region: education, healthcare, culture, transport, information and communications, sports and physical education, and housing facilities fund. The implementation of this program is expected to result in creation of the environment in which any person with any disabilities could easily move from place to place without any hindrances, get any services needed and, in general, live a full-fledged life.
One of the key factors in creating a barrier-free environment for people with disabilities and reduced mobility is tolerance to their needs. “A barrier-free environment begins with our tolerant attitude towards disabled people, which should become a norm for everyone,” — said Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan.
Several buildings and adjacent territory were furnished with the required facilities to provide a convenient access for people with disabilities and reduced mobility taking into account their special needs.
The majority of objects included in the program are located in the city of Kazan.
These are sports facilities (sports complexes Triumph, Vatan, Forward, and Spektr; center of martial art Ak Bars; center of boxing and table tennis), health care facilities (The Republican Clinical Oncologic Dispensary; Municipal Clinical Hospital No.7), 11 cultural (including the Youth Theatre, V.I. Kachalov Bolshoi Drama Theatre, G. Kamal Tatar Academic Theatre, special library for visually-impaired people, and etc.) and 6 social security facilities.
